A last minute find after trying the Bluemoon cafe in old downtown
Fire Stone was recommended to us by a local after discovering the restaurant we planned to dine at wouldn’t be open until midweek . We were pleasantly surprised to find that Fire Stone was locally owned with only two locations. We were seated right away. Our wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a little disappointing that the kitchen was out of several menu items, so we decided to go with recommendations of our waitress. We ordered Zesty Smothered Chicken and Cajun Angel Pasta. The “smothered” chicken was a grilled chicken scallopini with seasoning similar to a blackened seasoning. It was slightly over cooked but tasty nonetheless. The chicken was topped with a cream sauce of tomatoes, peppers, onions and crawfish tails. The Cajun Angel Pasta consisted of sauteed shrimp, scallops, tomatoes and basil on a bed of angel hair pasta and cajun cream sauce. We did not try the wood fired pizza but it smelled and looked amazing. Several tables around us ordered it and raved about it. We will be sure to try the pizza next time! We finished off dinner with a Bananas Foster Chimichanga…another perfect recommendation from our waitress. If you’re in Dothan, AL, give Fire Stone Wood Fired Pizza & Grill a try….you won’t be disappointed. People, support the locally owned restaurants!!! Several of the locally owned restaurants in this area don’t open until midweek because they just don’t get enough business. This town is flooded with chain restaurants… like every other town across the country! Show some love to the locals!
